Glossary

Blur
  • Blurring is a privacy-enhancing feature that automatically applies a blur effect to detected persons in video feed. See Blurring.
  • Confidence
  • Confidence refers to how sure the model is that a detected object actually belongs to a certain class. The confidence score represents the model’s estimated probability that a detected region contains an object of interest, not background.
  • Configurable video length
  • Duration of recorded video log. See Video Length.
  • Configuration Manager (also known as Config Manager)
  • Configuration Manager, also known as Config Manager and short for CM is the web based tool for manipulating VIS config files.
  • Email notifications
    1. Emails sent to recipients when defined system events occurred. See Email notifications.
    2. Emails sent to recipients when defined detection events. See Event Logs.
    Event log
  • An event log is a recorded entry of a system-triggered event, optionally including video, input data, and metadata for review and analysis. See Event Logs
  • Event video buffers (also known as Pre/Post-event frames)
  • Event buffers are pre- and post-event video frames included in each recording to provide context before and after a detection, enabling better understanding of the event. See Event Video Buffers.
  • Information on video
  • Real time system information displayed on video feed. See Information on video.
  • Heartbeat (also known as HB)
  • The heartbeat in VIS is a periodic signal that monitors system and component responsiveness to help detect failures and trigger safety actions. See Heartbeat.
  • Housekeeping
  • Housekeeping is the process that removes log files to make space.
  • Multiple region support
  • Multiple region support lets VIS create unlimited overlapping regions that can trigger alerts independently.
  • Region (also known as Region of Interest)
  • Region or region of interest is a specific area within a camera’s view designated for processing by the Vislet.
  • Region groups
  • A region group combines multiple regions, possibly from different cameras, to jointly evaluate detected objects and trigger unified alerts or violations.
  • Region switch
  • Region Switch allows switching between predefined detection regions based on external input.
  • Raw Sample Collector (RSC)
  • Raw Sample Collector (RSC) is a tool to collect raw images under defined circumstances to be used in model improvements.
  • System logs
  • Record of systematic activities. See System Logs.
  • Tracking
  • Tracking is the process of maintaining the identity and position of detected objects across frames.
  • Video log
  • A video log is a recording of an event with related footage and system data.
  • Vislet Model Fusion
  • Vislet Model Fusion combines outputs from multiple Vislets on the same feed into a single, unified interpretation.
  • Visor
  • Visor is the web-based application that enables live monitoring, log management, and region drawing for VIS.
