Mute
Muting VIS
Mute feature of VIS relies on the built-in mute input of the IPIO. Once turned on the preset mute input, IPIO starts inhibiting the output that comes from connected VIS instance(s) and assumes the mute preset. Mute preset remain in tact as long as the mute input is active. Connected VIS instances are notified about the change in mute status, both on and off so that they are logged. Other than logging, VIS does not take mute status of the IPIO into consideration and continues its regular process as defined. The value of the mute input also reflects on logged video info section.
Mute Logging
VIS records a log when an IPIO mute state has been changed. This is logged with the id of the muted/unmuted device. Mute state is logged once the state has been changed and every time system starts[1].
Mute Alert
VIS is expected to send alert emails when the system is muted and unmuted. Text and recipients of the alert will be stored in configuration files and updated with Configuration Manager. Notification alerts will only be sent if set in configuration
