Getting Started

Chapter Overview

Learn how to access VIS and become familiar with the main user interface.

User Interface

To manage and monitor a Safety AI deployment users need to access the Visor application. Visor is a web based application that runs on a web server. Every Visbox installation has one Visor instance built-in to run the default VIS instance installed on that Visbox.

Visor is accessible on the default HTTP port 80. If you have access to the local network (LAN) of the deployment, typing Visbox's IP address to a browser will be sufficient to load the Visor application. Visor requires users to login with a valid username and password.

Logging In

Enter your username and password, then select Log In.

Safety AI does not have a default user. Users who wishes to log in to Visor must ask their system administrator or integrator for a specific username. For more see User Management section of this guide.

Navigation

Visor navigation is pretty straightforward. Users can switch between tabs using the main menu on the left vertical bar. Menu bar has access to feed, camera settings and logs, also shortcuts to load IPIO Manager, Config Manager and VIS Admin on separate browser tabs.

The Main Window

After logging in, the main window is displayed.

Depending on your system configuration, the interface may include:

  • Live camera views
  • Event list
  • Navigation panel
  • Toolbar
  • Status indicators

The available panels and layout may differ between installations.

Before Monitoring

Before beginning normal operation, verify that:

  • All required cameras are online.
  • No critical system warnings are displayed.
  • The monitored area is clearly visible.
  • The system status indicates normal operation.

Warning

If cameras are offline or the system reports a critical error, follow your site's operating procedures before relying on Safety AI.
