Events and Logging
Chapter Overview
Learn how to view, understand, and respond to events generated by Safety AI.
What is an Event?
Safety AI has Vislets that process a camera feed, regions to define zones of interest and hosts models that are capable of detecting trained objects (classes). When an object is detected inside a region it is considered as an event in general. Depending on the configuration of the deployment the system decides if an event will be recorded and if outputs will be modified. Since this guide is not interested in the configuration and administration of the system it will only focus on the event that are configured to be logged and that change output.
As a rule of thumb, whenever a decision is made by the Safety AI an event is logged with visual evidence.
Change of Outputs
If configured to do so Safety AI events are capable of changing the state of the IPIO outputs. Transition between states are defined on the Configuration Manager.
Logging
Event Logs
All logged events are kept under Logs panel of the Visor application. Logs panel is basically a list of all events and system logs which can be sorted, filtered and scrolled.
Playing Event Videos
Event video log can be watched online by clicking the play button on the first column. Player also allows videos to be downloaded by clicking the (...) button and select download. To close the player just click anywhere outside the player.
System Logs
Besides event logs, same panel also shows logs of system related events such as connection loss, camera loss, user log ins etc. For more see system logs.
Housekeeping
Safety AI Housekeeping process tracks available storage space and removes older logs including videos to make space for correct operation and future logs. Frequency of purge depends on the available storage space and event density.
Housekeeping does not delete system logs.
