VIS Version 26 Now Available: New Features and Logging Enhancements

We’re pleased to announce the release of VIS version 26, the core service behind the Safety AI product family. This version introduces several technical improvements that system integrators and administrators have been waiting for.

Enhanced System Logging

System logging has been significantly expanded in V26, with 17 new log types introduced. Several of these now appear at system startup, giving VIS administrators better visibility into the system state from the moment it boots.

Mute and Unmute Events Are Now Logged

Mute is one those newly introduced logs. VIS now logs when the system is put on mute or if the system starts on mute. Same applies to unmute, off course. This log has also an email alert option attached so that defined email addresses will immediately know when the system is muted and unmuted*.

*Note: Email alerts require active internet access.

Configurable Pre- and Post-Event Video Buffers

Incident video recordings now support configurable pre- and post-event buffers, defining how many frames are included before and after a detected event.

Buffer lengths can be adjusted directly in the VIS configuration. If an event exceeds the configured maximum video length, the system will split the recording into multiple video segments and generate corresponding log entries.

Customizable Video Length

The video recording subsystem has been refactored for performance. On supported hardware, encoding is now offloaded to hardware accelerators, delivering significant improvements.

VIS v26 also allows you to define the maximum video length in the configuration.

VIS Version Tagging on Incident Videos

Incident video now includes the VIS version used at the time of recording—improving traceability and simplifying support or compliance reviews.
